We’ve been covering the Queen’s sparkling diamond tiaras all week, but I’ve saved one of my favorites for last: Queen Alexandra’s Kokoshnik. Today, we’ve got an appearance in Paris of a Russian-inspired tiara made for a Danish princess who became a British queen consort.
Queen Margrethe’s Ruby Horseshoe Brooch
Today, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark marks two important, solemn anniversaries: the 50th anniversary of the death of her beloved father, King Frederik IX of Denmark, and her simultaneous accession to the Danish throne. As she celebrates her Golden Jubilee, King Frederik will no doubt be close to Queen Margrethe’s heart and mind, and she’s likely to wear a jewel during the festivities that pays tribute to her father: her ruby horseshoe brooch.
The Queen’s Royal Wedding Tiara Reappearance
The Queen’s jewelry collection includes numerous diamond tiaras, but this particular sparkler has only been worn on a handful of occasions—including one of the most important days of her life. Today, we’ve got a look at its reemergence more than six decades later.
