Caroline de Guitaut, Deputy Surveyor of The Queen’s Works of Art at Royal Collection Trust
Date/Time: Saturday, April 10 @ 1 PM Eastern | Price: Free
From the Russian History Museum’s website: “The British Royal Collection contains the pre-eminent collection of works by the Russian master goldsmith and jeweler, Carl Fabergé. In scale, quality, and diversity of object the collection has few parallels. But it is in its unique formation – acquired by six successive generations of the royal family from Queen Victoria to HRH The Prince of Wales – the collection stands alone. This lecture will explore the history of The British Royal Collection, entwined with the dynastic links between the Romanovs and the British royal family, and will examine the stories behind some of the most important pieces in the collection.”
Note: You can register to access the live Zoom lecture at the link above. If you can’t make the live lecture, there’s also an option to fill out a form and have a recording emailed to you later!

Dr. Marie-Anne Mancio, art historian and lecturer
Date/Time: Thursday, April 15 @ 1 PM Eastern | Price: £10
From the London Art Salon/Victoria and Albert Museum: “There are exciting exhibitions opening this autumn, and whether you make it to the exhibitions or not, Dr Marie-Anne Mancio’s stimulating Zoom talks will explore the life and works of the artists on show and give you something to think and chat about. In this session we will be getting a taste of what’s to come at Fabergé in London: Romance to Revolution – opening at the V and A Nov 20,2021. The work of master goldsmith, Peter Carl Fabergé and the House of Fabergé has come to symbolise fin de siècle Russian craftsmanship, luxury and elegance. Perhaps the best-known of their creations are the Fabergé eggs: around 69 were created and 57 survive today. The most luxurious of these were the “Imperial” eggs made for the Russian Tsars Alexander III and Nicholas II between 1887 and 1917 as Easter gifts for their wives and mothers. Grab a glass of wine if you are on Europe time, or a coffee if in the USA and join the London Art Salon for our series of Zoom lectures with Dr Marie-Anne Mancio.”
Note: You can purchase tickets for the Zoom lecture, which previews the upcoming V and A exhibition, at the link above!
