On Monday, Sweden celebrated its National Day, and as usual, the Bernadottes were right in the midst of the festivities.

Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, and baby Prince Alexander kicked off the celebrations at the official opening of the palace gates.

Sofia wore traditional costume for the ceremony. Like Norway’s traditional dress, the Swedish women wear brooches at the neck. (Also, can I complain a little bit? I think it’s weird that the Swedish royal men wear business suits for National Day while the women wear traditional costume. Step it up, guys! If Haakon can do it, so can you.)

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia started off their day with a walkabout at Sofiero Castle in Helsingborg. Silvia went with regular daytime attire for this part of the day; she accessorized with pearl and a circular brooch.

The entire family (sans Chris O’Neill and some of the kids) gathered at Skansen in Stockholm later for another national day event. All four of the senior royal women wore traditional dress. Here’s Queen Silvia in her ensemble.

Crown Princess Victoria accessorized her traditional costume with pearl cluster earrings.

And Princess Sofia wore small hoop earrings with hers.

But the award for Cutest in National Dress definitely goes to Princess Estelle, who rode in the carriage procession with her parents. Isn’t she adorable? (Victoria and Daniel also released a new set of gorgeous pictures of Estelle and Oscar — you can see them over here!)
