The then-Princess Maxima brought some incredible wattage to the wedding with her streamlined diamond jewels, including the family’s classic diamond bandeau.

Here’s a closer view. Look at the fire that those diamonds give off! Spectacular. The enormous diamonds — more than a hundred carats’ worth — were originally set in a necklace that belonged to Queen Emma. Her daughter, Queen Wilhelmina, had the stones remade into a bandeau tiara in 1937.

For the wedding, Maxima wore the bandeau with diamond drop earrings from the family collection, one of the Dutch royal riviere necklaces, and three of Queen Emma’s diamond stars.

You’ll also spot even more sparkle on her wrist!

On her right wrist, she stacked her diamond wedding bracelet with the Dutch Diamond Star Bracelet, another heirloom from Queen Emma. She’s wearing her padparadscha sapphire ring on her right hand as well — it was a gift from King Willem-Alexander to mark the birth of Princess Alexia. She also wore Queen Juliana’s elaborate diamond evening watch on her left wrist.
