The brooch, which is made of hand-painted rock crystal and set with 100 diamonds, was the Queen’s gift to mark her mother’s hundredth birthday in 2000. She inherited the brooch not quite two years later when the Queen Mother died.

The Princess Royal was lovely in her diamond and pearl earrings and a pearl necklace with a gorgeous diamond and aquamarine pendant.
Here’s another view of Anne’s jewels, including her spectacular pendant.
The Countess of Wessex was lovely in earrings with gem-set studs and drops.
She also wore a stack of bracelets and a gorgeous cocktail ring set with a blue stone, either an aquamarine or a blue topaz. (Sophie has a large collection of aquamarine/topaz jewels.)

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie made their customary Ladies’ Day appearance, but neither wore any significant jewelry. How would you accessorize these outfits?
The Duchess of Gloucester was lovely in her diamond, emerald, and pearl jewels, including Princess Alice’s pearl and emerald necklaces. (More on those here!)
The Countess of Snowdon, daughter-in-law of the late Princess Margaret, was also in attendance at the races. Serena wore lovely pearls for the day.
