For their final engagement in New Delhi, William and Kate traveled to Hyderabad House to visit with Prime Minister Modi.

Kate changed her outfit and her jewelry, debuting a brand-new pair of earrings by Kiki McDonough.

According to Rebecca English, the earrings were made by the company especially for Kate to mark the birth of Princess Charlotte last May. The firm is currently advertising a few new pairs of spring earrings in similar shapes. The stones featured in Kate’s pair are green tourmaline and green amethyst.

Kate wore the same dress and earrings for the couple’s arrival at the airport in Assam.

To visit a center for homeless children at New Delhi’s railway station, Kate repeated a pair of earrings from the first day of the tour: the Filigree Bead Short Drop Earrings from Accessorize.

The earrings coordinated nicely with Kate’s printed maxi dress.

Her hair was pulled back slightly at the sides, which gave us a good view of the earrings and, more importantly, helped keep her hair out of her face while she interacted with the children at the center.

I think repeated an affordable pair of earrings was an especially good choice for this engagement. If Kate had worn a new pair — especially one that was expensive — the press reports from the visit would have become entirely about a display of wealth instead of about the children that Kate and William were visiting.

This evening, William and Kate attended a garden party at the residence of the British High Commissioner in New Delhi. The event was a 90th birthday party for the Queen, who celebrates her big day next week.

Kate wore a new set of Alice Temperley separates with a pair of familiar silver-toned earrings.

Here’s a close-up of the design. Kate and her sister, Pippa, have both worn this pair; Kate’s had them since at least 2007. Her biggest royal outing in the earrings before this garden party was at the Queen’s annual Buckingham Palace Christmas luncheon in 2014.

I like seeing a statement earring, but I would have loved to see another new pair — and I think this outfit is absolutely screaming for a bangle bracelet or two.
