The Grimaldis weren’t the only princely family celebrating a wedding this weekend! The Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayns also had a wedding this weekend, complete with a bridal tiara.

Casimir of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, the second son of the head of the House of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, married an American model, Alana Bunte, at Schloss Sayn on Saturday. The Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayns are distant cousins of another princely family that you’ll all be familiar with: the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburgs (who are better known to many of us because they married into the royal family of Denmark).

This is the second marriage for Casimir, who was previously married to Corinna of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn. You may know Corinna for her work as a business representative for Monaco — or for her close friendship with King Juan Carlos of Spain. After his divorce from Corinna, Casimir also dated another notable woman: Tinsley Mortimer, an American socialite who now appears on The Real Housewives of New York City.

Alana wore diamonds and pearls to marry her prince, including a diamond and pearl tiara and diamond and pearl drop earrings.

Here’s a closer look at the scroll and floral tiara. The sparkler, which features a large natural pearl at its peak, shares a resemblance in design to another princely diadem: the Kinsky Honeysuckle Tiara.

Alana isn’t the first Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn bride to wear the tiara on her wedding day. In 2011, Countess Philippa Spannocchi wore the tiara when she married Casimir’s younger brother, Ludwig of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn.

Like her new sister-in-law, Philippa also paired the tiara with diamond and pearl drop earrings to complete her bridal look.
