Get excited: we’re getting closer to crowning a tournament champion!

Here’s a look at the remaining contenders from the top of our bracket: from Denmark, the Danish Ruby Parure Tiara and the Danish Floral Aigrette, and from Sweden, the Leuchtenberg Sapphire Parure Tiara and the Swedish Aquamarine Kokoshnik.

The results are in from our latest tiara tournament contests!

The Leuchtenberg Sapphire Parure Tiara vs. The Connaught Diamond Tiara

The reign of the sapphires continues! Though the Connaught Diamond Tiara brought in a very respectable 31.27% of the vote, the Leuchtenberg Sapphire Parure Tiara triumphed again, winning with 68.73% of your votes.

The Braganza Tiara vs. The Swedish Aquamarine Kokoshnik

Grand diamonds and aquamarines faced off in this contest! The Swedish Aquamarine Kokoshnik stunned its imperial competition, winning with 65.71% of the vote, while 34.29% of you chose the Braganza Tiara.

The Khedive of Egypt Tiara vs. Queen Alexandrine’s Sapphire Tiara

No big surprises here! The Khedive of Egypt Tiara was chosen by 69.13% of voters, while 30.87% of you selected Queen Alexandrine’s Sapphire Tiara.

Princess Benedikte’s Floral Birthday Tiara vs. Queen Louise’s Diamond Tiara

The clock finally struck midnight for our tournament Cinderella! Though 29.1% of you selected Queen Louise’s Diamond Tiara to keep dancing, Princess Benedikte’s Floral Birthday Tiara won the round with 70.9% of the vote.

It’s a battle of two great Danish royal parures!

The Danish Ruby Parure Tiara vs. The Danish Emerald Parure Tiara

The Danish Ruby Parure Tiara

This tiara began its life as a series of hair combs, purchased by Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte for his wife, Desiree, to wear at Napoleon’s coronation in 1804. When Bernadotte was elected King of Sweden, the rubies became royal jewels. The combs were made into a bandeau by Queen Alexandrine of Denmark, who had received them from her mother-in-law, Lovisa of Sweden. Queen Ingrid turned the bandeau into a grand wreath tiara, which is now worn by Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.

The Danish Emerald Parure Tiara

One of the grandest tiaras in the Danish crown jewel collection, this diamond and emerald sparkler was made in 1840 by C.M. Weisshaupt. The emeralds are even older: they belonged to Queen Sophie Magdalene and Princess Charlotte. The emeralds are reserved for the use of Denmark’s queen, so Queen Margrethe II is their current wearer. When they’re not in use, though, you can visit them on display at Rosenborg Castle.
