On Saturday, the world marked the 140th anniversary of the birth of Princess Margaret of Connaught, the ancestor of many of today’s Scandinavian royals. To celebrate, we’re dedicating this week’s Sparkling Spotlight posts to some of her grandest jewels, which are still being worn by her royal descendants today. We’ve been covering the Queen’s sparkling diamond tiaras all week, but I’ve saved one of my favorites for last: Queen Alexandra’s Kokoshnik. Today, we’ve got an appearance in Paris of a Russian-inspired tiara made for a Danish princess who became a British queen consort.

The Queen’s jewelry collection includes numerous diamond tiaras, but this particular sparkler has only been worn on a handful of occasions—including one of the most important days of her life. Today, we’ve got a look at its reemergence more than six decades later.
