Royal Tour of India and Bhutan: Oval Maidan and Banganga Water Tank

Kate changed into a new outfit and jewelry before the second engagement of the tour: a visit to Oval Maidan in Mumbai to play cricket.

Anna, always quick with a jewelry ID, sleuthed out the identity of the new pair of earrings: they’re the Filigree Bead Short Drop Earrings from Accessorize/Monsoon, a British high street chain that’s similar to Claire’s in America. The earrings reportedly retail for around £8.

The earrings moved nicely while Kate played cricket in one of Mumbai’s largest public parks.

Royal Tour of India and Bhutan: Taj Palace Hotel Arrival, Mumbai

Here we go, everybody: the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have begun their tour of India and Bhutan! For their first engagement — a wreath-laying at the Taj Palace Hotel — Kate brought out a familiar bit of jewelry.

Kate chose to wear the same earrings she donned for last week’s pre-tour reception: the “Temple of Heaven” girandole earrings by Cassandra Goad.

This time around, her hairstyle allowed for a better view of the earrings. Photographers were even able to snap close-ups of the golden girandoles.

Kate’s Jewelry Box: The Modern Diamond and Emerald Demi-Parure

Our look into the jewelry box of the Duchess of Cambridge continues this week with one of her most stunning suites of jewelry: her modern diamond and emerald demi-parure.

Kate debuted the set during the Cambridges’ trip to New York in December 2014. She selected the jewels for the St. Andrews 600th Anniversary Dinner at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The suite includes at least two pieces: a pair of earrings and a coordinating bracelet. The pieces are set with white diamonds, yellow diamonds, and square-cut emeralds, which are set within a floral border of diamonds.

The maker of the set has not been identified, but I agree with those who have suggested that it’s modern in design. I also think the set is a good candidate for the black-tie reception being held this week on William and Kate’s tour of India.

Update: For the 2018 BAFTAs, Kate wore pieces from this suite again, including a major statement necklace. She also wore the bracelet and a modified version of the earrings, using just the emerald cluster portion as a stud earring.
