7. As the imperial family mourns the death of Prince Mikasa, Empress Michiko wore a suite of black jewelry on October 27 in Tokyo.

5. And it’s a tie for fifth, too! Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom has worn a series of brooches this week, including her ruby and diamond floral brooch (which she also repeated at an evening palace reception), her Flower Basket Brooch, and the Grima Ruby Brooch. 3. To welcome Colombia’s first couple to London, the Duchess of Cornwall wore her gorgeous diamond Prince of Wales Feather brooch with its cabochon emerald pendant drop. (More jewels from this event over here!)

1. And it’s a collective vote for first place, too: the British royal ladies dressed up for the Colombian state banquet on Tuesday. Queen Elizabeth II wore her sapphires; Camilla wore the Greville Tiara with diamond earrings and a pearl necklace; the Duchess of Gloucester wore the Iveagh Tiara with pearls (and the honeysuckle tiara at the next evening’s Guildhall banquet); and Princess Alexandra wore a tiara, likely the Ogilvy.
