10. The Duchess of Cambridge gave us a good glimpse of her sapphire and diamond earrings during a visit to Portsmouth on Thursday.

9. Royals from Belgium and Liechtenstein attended a service in memory of deceased members of the family on Thursday. Queen Mathilde chose simple pearl earrings, while Queen Paola donned a silver pair with a modern shape.

8. The Duchess of Cornwall wore her pair of dragonfly brooches to celebrate Waitangi Day on Friday.

7. On Wednesday, Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands wore pearls in shades of ivory and gray at the state funeral for Richard von Weizsaecker in Berlin.

6. Farah Pahlavi, the former empress of Iran, wore earrings in the shape of golden rosettes at a press conference on February 5.

5. Queen Letizia wore earrings that coordinated with her colorful blouse while visiting the National Paraplegics Hospital with her husband on Tuesday.

4. On Thursday, Letizia chose her multi-colored earrings from Tous for a visit to a wine cellar.

3. Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy wore diamond and pearl earrings at a February 5 memorial service for Sir Jocelyn Stevens.

2. Queen Elizabeth II wore her aquamarine clips at a joint birthday reception for the Earl and Countess of Wessex on Tuesday. (The sparkle on Sophie’s shoulder is a part of her dress, not a separate piece of jewelry.)

1. The Swedish royals brought out the glitter at a dinner in Stockholm on Wednesday. Queen Silvia wore the Connaught Tiara; she also pinned a diamond and pearl brooch that had belonged to Princess Lilian to her sash. Crown Princess Victoria wore the six-button tiara with jewels from the cameo parure. Princess Christina wore the diamond and aquamarine kokoshnik tiara. Sofia Hellqvist donned a lovely pair of pendant earrings. But the biggest surprise of the night came courtesy Princess Madeleine, who brought out her diamond and aquamarine bandeau for the first time in years, wearing it low across her forehead in ’20s style.

10. Looking happier than I’ve ever seen her, Princess Charlene of Monaco helped to celebrate the festival of Monaco’s patron saint, Saint-Devote, on Monday. She wore simple diamond stud earrings for the occasion.

9. The Danish royal court has announced the schedule of events to celebrate Queen Margrethe’s 75th birthday this April, and there’s a gala on the docket. You know what that means: major, major European tiaras! Mark your calendars for April 15!

8. Crown Princess Victoria’s earrings were appropriately lively for the European Figure Skating Championships, where she danced in the stands along with her daughter, Princess Estelle.

7. Queen Maxima went light on the jewelry for an education fair on Wednesday, though she did don her usual set of bracelets.

6. Photographers offered us a great view of a familiar jewel — Camilla’s diamond-clasped pearl choker — at an Australia Day event on Monday.

5. Queen Letizia wore her diamond pave drop earrings to a meeting at FEDER in Madrid on Tuesday.

4. Queen Mathilde wore gold earrings — and a rather unusual “hat” — at Saturday’s opening of Mons 2015.

3. To meet with survivors on Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Duchess of Cornwall donned her small diamond clover brooch and pearls.

2. Crown Princess Mette-Marit also attended a memorial ceremony on Holocaust Remembrance Day, and she also wore pearls (a traditional choice for occasions of memorial and remembrance), selecting a long, sautoir-like necklace.

1. Queen Letizia dazzled at a symposium on Thursday, wearing a gorgeous pair of diamond girandole earrings.

Birthdays, brooches, and a trip to the circus — here are this week’s royal jewels!
10. The Countess of Wessex celebrated her 50th birthday this week with a series of engagements; she chose minimal jewelry, including these sea urchin stud earrings by Patrick Mavros. The earrings feature tiny black diamonds in the center of the stud. Closeups are available at Anna’s blog.

9. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a more familiar pair of earrings during her visit to the Kensington Leisure Centre on Monday: her Kiki McDonough green amethyst drop earrings.

8. The annual International Circus Festival is in full swing in Monaco. Princess Stephanie, wearing no jewelry as usual, attended the circus on Saturday with her daughters, Pauline and Camille. And, praise be, it looks like Camille may be stepping up the jewelry game in this branch of the Grimaldi family: check out the statement earrings she paired with her fur hat!

7. Another of Princess Grace’s granddaughters, Charlotte Casiraghi, wore a pair of delicate hoop earrings and a bracelet on Monday to announce her new partnership with Montblanc.

6. On Wednesday, Queen Letizia of Spain wore a lovely pair of drop earrings and a glittering dress to receive foreign ambassadors at the palace.

5. Princess Caroline wore an intriguing necklace to view an exhibit at the New National Museum in Monaco on Tuesday.

4. The Duchess of Cornwall wore one of her many pearl choker necklaces to welcome radio personality Chris Evans to Clarence House on Tuesday.

3. The Duchess of Cambridge debuted a new pair of earrings at the Fostering Network on Friday. They’re the “Lolita” earrings by Mirabelle.

2. Queen Maxima of the Netherlands wore another massive statement necklace this week, this time to a conference on financial inclusion in London on Monday.

1. She’s still on her Christmas holiday — and will be until February 6, the anniversary of her father’s death and her accession to the throne — but Queen Elizabeth II stepped out at Sandringham on Thursday for a Women’s Institute meeting. She wore her Cartier aquamarine clips for the engagement. (Also worth noting: on Thursday, Elizabeth II became the oldest living person in the world currently reigning as a monarch when King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia died. Please live forever, Lilibet.)
