It’s Ladies’ Day at Royal Ascot, magpies! Time to enjoy the hats and jewels we saw on the third day of this year’s races.

The Queen chose her small cluster brooch with the pink central gemstone, pinning it to a bright pink jacket. I’ve seen the gemstone described variously as pink topaz or pink sapphire; I don’t think we’ve had confirmation on the precise stone.

As usual, both of the York princesses were in attendance for Ladies’ Day, too. And also as usual, Princess Beatrice wore no jewelry with her ensemble. Rather than continue to wonder why she doesn’t wear jewels, let’s play a new game: what jewelry would you wear with this outfit and hat?

The Princess Royal (who is definitely judging you in this photo!) wore a very flattering shade of green for the races on Thursday, accessorizing with a pearl necklace, gold and pearl earrings, a gold bangle, and a brooch in the shape of a seahorse.

Zara Tindall was present for the races today, too — she wore a pair of small silver hoop earrings (from her own jewelry collection, I believe) with her watch and rings.
