On the third day of her visit to Italy, the Duchess of Cornwall wore pearls for a series of engagements in Florence.

While Prince Charles visited one of the locations devastated by last year’s earthquake, Camilla stayed on in Florence. For the day’s engagements, she wore diamond and pearl earrings with a single-stranded pearl necklace. The necklace also includes a pave-set diamond bead. She also wore her engagement and wedding rings, her gold and gemstone bracelet, and her watch.

Camilla’s day in Florence included a trip to the Uffizi Gallery, where she viewed famous paintings like Botticelli’s Primavera. She was given a tour of the gallery by its director, Dr. Eike Schmidt.

She paused outside the gallery to meet a furry Italian admirer.

Camilla also stopped at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, where she viewed a memorial plaque to her great-grandmother, Alice Keppel. Alice, who was the last mistress of King Edward VII, died at her Italian villa in 1947, and she is buried in Florence.

While the Prince of Wales headed to Vincenza, the Duchess of Cornwall spent Saturday’s second day of the Italian visit touring various sites in Naples.

Camilla wore one of her signature pearl choker necklaces for the day: the four-stranded necklace with the round diamond clasp.

The day included several stops, including a visit to La Gloriette, a community center run by a social co-operative engaged in social and educational work with vulnerable people.

At a local fashion house, E. Marinella, Camilla was able to observe the processes involved in making silk scarves and ties by hand before inaugurating the firm’s museum.

She also toured the Herculaneum Archaeological Site, viewing ancient artifacts excavated on site.

Later that evening, on her return to Florence, Camilla added a jacket to her outfit to attend a wine reception with Prince Charles.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall embarked on a six-day visit to Italy on Friday. The visit is intended to highlight UK’s relationship with European partners in areas including social cohesion, military ties and combating human trafficking.
