Happy Hat Christmas, everybody! Here’s a look at the jewelry (and chapeaux) we saw on display from the royals on the first day of Royal Ascot.

The Queen wore one of her very favorite brooches: the gold and diamond Frosted Sunflower (or Dahlia) Brooch.

The Duchess of Cornwall also picked a favorite piece from her jewelry box: the five-stranded pearl necklace with the grand diamond and pink topaz clasp. She paired the necklace with her diamond and pearl drop earrings.

The Princess Royal wore a lovely neutral coat with golden jewels (plus a pearl necklace and a badge from the Jockey Club). Here’s a closer look at her brooch/earring set:

Both pieces feature ribbon-like gold motifs and cabochon gemstones (possibly sapphires). The star-shaped brooch has diamond points, while the earrings have pearl drops.

The Countess of Wessex wore her Dior earrings and brooch. Both pieces are made of resin beads and crystals.

She also wore a gold bangle bracelet from the Tiffany T collection on her right wrist.

Princess Beatrice was the only York sister in attendance; she wore a stack of delicate chain bracelets on her right wrist. Her hat also looks to be embellished with constellation-esque rhinestones.

Prince Philip even accessorized with a gold tie pin in the shape of an anchor. (You can also see a blurry image of the Duchess of Gloucester behind him.)

Here’s a less-blurry image of Birgitte. She’s wearing rather glam jewels for daytime: a pearl necklace, ruby and diamond drop earrings, a diamond floral brooch that features ruby, sapphire, and emerald stones, and a pair of ruby and diamond clips to fasten her jacket.

And even Prince Harry got on the accessory train, wearing a pair of beaded bracelets on his right wrist.

Two aristocratic ladies also rode in the Queen’s carriage procession. Above, Viscountess Petersham wears diamond and pearl drop earrings, plus a diamond star brooch. (Trivia: Lady Petersham is married to Viscountess Linley’s brother.)

And the Duchess of Argyll wore small stud earrings with a four-stranded pearl necklace with a round diamond clasp, very similar to one from the Duchess of Cornwall’s collection.
