On Thursday evening, William and Kate had a private dinner at the palace with the King and Queen of Bhutan.

Kate repeated the new gold earrings she’d worn earlier in the day during the airport arrival ceremony.

This time, she paired the earrings with a gorgeous dress by Tory Burch. I think this may be my favorite jewel/dress pairing of the tour so far…

From the airport, William and Kate traveled to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. There they were greeted by King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and his wife, Queen Jetsun Pema.

Kate wore another new pair of earrings. Anna has posited that these are Kiki McDonough’s lavender amethyst pear and oval drop earrings, and I tend to agree. The pale purple amethysts are surrounded by diamonds and set in white gold.

…and darts. Here you also get a good look at the skirt that Kate had made from Bhutanese fabric especially for the tour.

William and Kate’s royal tour switches gears today, as they leave India to spend some time in Bhutan. Kate wore a new pair of earrings for their arrival at the airport in Paro.

Here’s a closer look at the earrings. The people of Bhutan often wear jewelry made of intricate designs in gold or silver. I don’t think we have an ID of this pair yet, but as I said in my tour preview posts, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Kate wearing some local jewelry on this part of the tour.

UPDATE: We have an ID! The earrings were made by a brand called Brora.

William and Kate were greeted at the airport by the king’s elder sister, Princess Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck and her husband, Dasho Sangay Wangchuck. They’re a seriously educated royal couple — the princess has degrees in international relations and economics from Wellesley, plus a master’s degree from Columbia; her husband is apparently also in the process of completing a master’s degree from Columbia.
