You’re in for a treat today, jewel lovers — though perhaps one that’s not exactly pocketbook friendly…

Holiday Wishlist: Fabergé

Founded in 1842, the House of Fabergé was founded in St. Petersburg, and since then, they’ve made important pieces of jewelry for royals across Europe. From tiaras for empresses to brooches for queens, the pieces that Fabergé has made over the year remain impressively wearable even today. Here are five of my favorite pieces from the company’s newest collections…

The Summer Rose Petal Brooch is a part of the company’s “Spectre de la Rose” series, which features jewelry designed to look like fallen rose petals. The entire brooch is encrusted with colorful diamonds and sapphires. (Price on request)

Fabergé is famous around the world for their bejeweled Easter eggs, and today the company honors the legacy of those jeweled objects in their fine jewelry collections. The Impératrice Diamond Rose Gold Pendant especially echoes the splendor of the Romanov court. ($6,641)

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the Clover Ring — I’m not even sure I’d be brave enough to wear it, but it’s absolutely magical. Made to echo one of Fabergé’s eggs, the ring features four large four-leaf clovers set with green garnets and white diamonds. Amazing. (Price on request)

No big deal — just a pair of earrings inspired by Catherine the Great. (!) The Katharina Earrings feature large tourmaline drops, small moonstones, and borders of pavé-set pink and white diamonds. (Price on request)

 
Fabergé doesn’t forget jewels for gentlemen, either — the Sergei Diamond Cufflinks are a throwback to the days when the company made elaborate cigarette cases. ($8,601)

Two state visits, a diplomatic reception, and earrings galore — enjoy this week’s royal glitter!
10. Queen Letizia of Spain has officially joined her Dutch and Belgian counterparts in the Big Earring Brigade. She wore this pair of exaggerated yet elegant pendant earrings from Tous during an introductory visit to Germany on Tuesday.

9. Queen Mathilde of the Belgians has added a pair of bright cobalt bobs to her own big earring collection; she wore these with a coordinating dress in Brussels on Monday.

8. In Amsterdam on Tuesday, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands chose an intriguing pair of dark beaded earrings from her own giant earring collection. Seriously, I think we’re firmly in Trend Territory by now.

7. One royal lady you can count on to stick with the classics is the Duchess of Cornwall, who chose one of her familiar pearl choker necklaces to Fortnum and Mason on Thursday. This one has a large all-diamond clasp with a cross pattern. She’s also worn her workhorse diamond and pearl drop earrings.

6. The Spanish royal family was out in force on Thursday at the National Sports Awards. Infanta Elena, eldest sister of King Felipe, wore a large bejeweled star brooch and pearl earrings for the occasion.

5. At the same awards ceremony, Queen Sofia wore gold hoop earrings and a coordinating necklace.

4. And Queen Letizia chose yet another pair of unusual over-sized earrings for the awards ceremony.

3. King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway are on a state visit to Myanmar this week, and Sonja picked a bold necklace for a visit to the Shwedagon Pagoda on Tuesday.

2. For the annual diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace, Camilla wore the Shand Tiara, a diamond floral sparkler that belongs to her own family, with diamond earrings and one of her pearl choker necklaces with a diamond clasp. She also wore the sash of the Royal Victorian Order.

1. King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden have been in France this week, and on Tuesday, they attended a state dinner at the Elysee Palace. The French don’t host elaborate state banquets anymore (with the exception of the black-tie dinner for Queen Elizabeth II earlier this year), so no tiaras were worn. But crafty Silvia managed to wear major, significant jewelry anyway by donning pieces from the family’s Napoleon-era Cameo Parure.

She wore the brooch (which actually may not be original to the set) in her hair, as well as the earrings, necklace, and bracelet. She also wore her husband’s family order.

Holiday Wishlist: Monica Vinader

Born in Spain, raised in Britain, and educated in America, Monica Vinader brings a truly global perspective to the jewelry she creates. Founded in 2009, the company recently gained the attention of royal watchers when the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in some of their pieces. Here are five of my favorite jewels from the brand’s current collections…

The gorgeous green Siren Cocktail Earrings immediately reminded me of the emeralds that Camilla received on her recent royal tour. These are set with much more affordable green onyx, and they’re perfect for the holidays! ($620)
The Duchess of Cambridge recently wore a couple of jewels from the Riva collection; I think the simple Riva Diamond Hoop Pendant, made of pave-set diamonds in gold-plated sterling silver, is a fun way to echo that style. ($265)

The Mini Marie Bracelet is so perfect, marrying delicate design with motifs that hearken back to jewelry from ancient civilizations. ($200)

I love this colorful twist on the eternity band. The Siren Eternity Band sets different gemstones in its fun, organic shape; the blue lapis stones are my favorite choice. ($240)

The Ava Disc Drop Earrings would be such a great addition to anyone’s jewelry box, with the classic pave-set discs featuring 0.50 carats of diamonds. Beautiful! ($1555)
