No, it’s not that royal wedding tiara from Princess Margaret’s collection. But this dazzling diamond tiara, which was later worn by another famous royal bride, traveled with Margaret to a royal family wedding in Scandinavia, just weeks before her own secret romance was revealed. Today, during Margaret’s birthday week, we’ve got a closer look at her appearance in the Cartier Halo Tiara in Norway in 1953.
The Danish royals headed out this week on their annual summer tour, sailing aboard the Royal Yacht Dannebrog to visit several of Denmark’s islands, and Queen Mary sparkled in diamonds, pearls, and gold–and Catherine the Great’s turquoises!–for two stops along the way.
The Olympics may be over, but royals have continued celebrating their nations’ athletes and champions. In the Netherlands, the King and Queen honored the achievements of Dutch medalists during a palace reception in The Hague.
