The Duke and Duchess of Sussex continued their visit to Africa this week, and we saw the Duchess out and about for several engagements in Johannesburg. Here’s a look at the jewels she chose for the second half of the tour. (Don’t miss our recap of last week’s engagements!)

On Monday, Meghan ventured out to Victoria Yards, a revitalized area of Johannesburg that features groups of local artists showcasing their talents and work.

Appropriately, Meghan chose to showcase the work of a South African jeweler during the visit. Her handcrafted hoop earrings were made by Pichulik, a company headquartered in Cape Town. The brand’s website notes that they see jewelry as “a sacred conduit for healing, community and wisdom.”

On Tuesday, Meghan began her day with a visit to the University of Johannesburg, in her capacity as patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. She participated in a roundtable discussion about the difficulties faced by South African women seeking to access higher education.

She kept her jewelry extremely minimal for this event, wearing no earrings at all. (Her hair covered her ears for the majority of the engagement.)

She did wear her gold wedding band stacked with her gold and turquoise Jennifer Meyer ring, as well as a gold and enamel evil eye bracelet by Alemdara.

Later on Tuesday, Meghan visited Action Aid South Africa, an organization dedicated to fighting for women’s rights, championing social justice, and ending poverty. While visiting Action Aid, she participated in a conversation about ways to tackle the problem of violence against women and girls.

For the engagement, Meghan chose another pair of earrings by Pichulik. This pair features copper beads and woven rope in their design.

She also wore her evil eye bracelet and the same ring stack from her earlier outing.

On Wednesday, Meghan joined Harry for a visit to Tembisa township in Johannesburg, where they toured the community hub of Youth Employment Services.

With her simple white shirt dress, Meghan chose colorful accessories.

Her red tassel earrings come from the US brand Madewell, a favorite retailer of Meghan’s. The stud portion of the earring is set with pink jade.

She also wore a beaded bracelet that was presented to her during a private engagement the previous day.

The final day of the tour concluded later on with a Creative Industries and Business Reception and audience with the nation’s President and First Lady, as well as a meeting with a very important South African figure: Graca Machel, the widow of the late Nelson Mandela.

For this part of the day, Meghan returned to the Jennifer Meyer gold, diamond, and turquoise earrings that she favored during her engagements in Cape Town last week.

She also again wore her wedding ring stacked with the gold and turquoise Jennifer Meyer ring, as well as a delicate gold bracelet.
Parliamentary Jewels in Copenhagen

Parliament season continued this week in Europe, with the Danish royals attending the annual opening of the parliamentary session in Copenhagen.

Denmark’s parliament is called the Folketing; it meets inside Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen, and it shares power with the monarch. However, Queen Margrethe II doesn’t speak at the opening session, but rather attends the session as an observer with other members of the royal family.

This year, Margrethe wore regal purple, including amethyst jewels, to attend the opening session.

Her intriguing earrings appear to be made of carved amethyst cabochons.

You’ll also spot a ring with a vivid violet stone on her right hand.

Crown Princess Mary kept her jewels simple for the session, wearing just a pair of classic diamond cluster stud earrings.

Her coat, however, was embellished with extra sparkle of its own.

My favorite jewels of the day belonged to Princess Benedikte, the other member of the family in attendance. (Prince Joachim and Princess Marie are currently residing in France.) She wore gorgeous black pearls with a seasonal brooch.

Here’s another look at the beautiful brooch, which is designed to look like berries and leaves. Perfect for autumn!
