The annual British royal Easter parade took place on Sunday morning at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor. Here’s a look at the jewels that the ladies wore with their Easter bonnets!

The Queen may have gone without a brooch for the Royal Maundy Service, but for Easter Matins, she chose an old favorite: the Pearl Triangle Brooch, which is set with two pearls and a yellow diamond.

The Duchess of Cambridge selected pieces from her collection of mabe pearl-style jewels: the earrings, which are by Balenciaga, and the brooch.

Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, and her daughter-in-law, Autumn Phillips, were also on hand for the Sunday service. Autumn wore classic pearl and diamond earrings with a delicate bracelet, while Zara wore sparkling stud earrings with rings, including a band on her right hand.

The York princesses were present as well. Princess Beatrice, as usual, went without jewels. (What jewels would you have worn with her outfit?) Princess Eugenie wore hoop earrings and her fabulous sapphire engagement ring. She also brought her husband-to-be, Jack Brooksbank.

Delicate jewels were the order of the day for the Wessex ladies. Both wore delicate pendant necklaces; Sophie’s features an initial charm.

Jewels to Celebrate the Late Countess Mountbatten of Burma

The Mountbatten and Windsor families gathered today at St. Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge to celebrate the life of the late Patricia Knatchbull, 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma. Lady Mountbatten was the daughter of the famous Lord Mountbatten, the last viceroy of India, who was an uncle of the Duke of Edinburgh and a brother of Queen Louise of Sweden.

Lady Mountbatten was the Duke of Edinburgh’s first cousin and a godmother of the Prince of Wales. She was a formidable woman; she served in World War II, and she was one of the survivors of the IRA bombing that killed her father, her mother-in-law, and one of her sons. We covered her post-war wedding over here and chatted about her wedding tiara over here; today, we’re glancing at some of the elegant jewels worn at her funeral service.

Lord Brabourne, the late Lady Mountbatten’s eldest son, arrived hand in hand with his wife, Penelope. Although they have been estranged in the recent past, the two presented a united front at the funeral service. After today, they’ll officially be known as the Earl and Countess Mountbatten of Burma. (Norton had previously inherited his father’s Brabourne barony; now, he inherits his mother’s Mountbatten earldom.)

The new Lady Mountbatten wore a lovely diamond floral brooch with classic pearl earrings to celebrate her mother-in-law’s extraordinary life.

The Queen was a bridesmaid at the late Lady Mountbatten’s wedding; today, she wore the elegant Courtauld Thomson Scallop-Shell Brooch at her funeral. (More on the brooch’s history over here.)

The Prince of Wales was among the mourners at his godmother’s funeral; so was the Duke of Edinburgh, who was recently released from the hospital.

…as was the Countess of Wessex. (The Earl of Wessex had previously-scheduled official engagements in Scotland.) Sophie wore her Dior Tribales pearl-look earrings with a dress made of heart-shaped lace.

The Princess Royal attended the funeral in classic pearls and one of her gold and pearl brooches.

And a few more royals were in attendance, too: the Kent brothers, Edward and Michael, represented their branch of the royal family.

Royal Ascot Jewels 2017 (Day 2)

After the State Opening of Parliament wrapped up, the Queen headed back to join the rest of the royals for the second day of this year’s Royal Ascot races. Here’s a look at the jewels (and hats!) they wore.

The Queen made a quick change between the morning’s engagement and the races, swapping out her blue ensemble for a bright yellow one. She also changed brooches, switching out the Cullinan V Brooch for the Flame Lily Brooch.

Because Prince Philip is currently in the hospital, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall accompanied the Queen to Ascot. Camilla wore her diamond and pearl earrings with her pearl necklace with the large diamond clasp.

The Princess Royal was in front of the cameras a bit more today; she wore a pearl necklace with her gold, diamond, and sapphire jewelry suite. The earrings from the set also feature pearls.

I wish I had better photos that I can legally share with you of the Countess of Wessex, who wore a pretty pink hat and dress for Day 2, but the photo agencies appear to be on a Sophie Strike this week! (Ditto the Duchess of Gloucester, who also attended today.) Above, you can see that she accessorized with a pair of glittering earrings.
