Blue Gems for Queen Maxima’s Gala Benefit

Queen Maxima has unlimited access to the extensive treasures of the Dutch royal jewelry vaults, but she also has an impressive personal jewel collection of her own, including this fabulous suite of jewels set with bright blue gemstones.

On Tuesday, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attended a gala dinner in Amsterdam. She chose one of her most interesting sets of personal jewelry for the event, which was a benefit for the Princess Maxima Center for Children’s Oncology.

The necklace and earring set that Maxima chose for the gala benefit is one of the more recent additions to Maxima’s jewelry box, likely acquired within the last four or five years.

Here’s a close-up of the necklace. We don’t have confirmation on the precise blue gemstones set in the suite, but speculation has included tanzanites, iolites, and sapphires. Diamonds and luminous moonstones complete the set.
