Maxima Sparkles for the Willemsorde

On Friday, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands headed to The Hague, where they attended a military ceremony awarding the Willemsorde, the nation’s highest military decoration, to Major Roy de Ruiter.

For the occasion, Maxima wore sparkling jewels set with diamonds and pale pink gems.

Maxima’s show-stopping brooch sparkled so mightily in the sun that its pale pink central stones looked nearly colorless in some photographs. The brooch features a “spiky” cluster of white diamonds.
