It’s that time of year again, everyone: Royal Ascot has arrived! Here’s a look at the royal jewels we saw this morning on the racecourse for the first day of the races.

The Queen wore sunny yellow for the first day of the meet, and her brooch choice, Queen Mary’s Russian Brooch, picked up some of the blue hues in her dress and hat.

The geometric brooch, which features a large square-cut diamond and a sugarloaf cabochon sapphire, was Queen Mary’s wedding gift from Empress Marie Feodorovna of Russia (an aunt of Mary’s husband, King George V).

The Duchess of Cornwall was lovely in cream for the day, accessorizing with her pearl drop earrings and her four-stranded pearl necklace with the round diamond clasp. (They’re the same jewels she wore yesterday for Garter Day as well.)

The Duchess of Sussex made her Ascot debut on Tuesday, presenting the winner’s cup for the St. James Stakes with her new husband, the Duke of Sussex.

According to What Meghan Wore, Meghan wore the pave-set Petale gold and diamond earrings from Birks.

The Princess Royal was regal in gold, diamond, and pearls for the day, wearing the gold and diamond stalactite clip brooch from Andrew Grima, which was a wedding gift from her mother.

She paired the brooch with her modern gold and pearl earrings, which I believe are also by Grima. Even in the bright sun, Anne looked lovely and serene today, and rightly so: it was announced this morning that her daughter, Zara, had given birth to a healthy baby girl! No news on the name of the Queen’s newest great-grandchild yet.

No substantial jewelry from either Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie today, though Eugenie was wearing her engagement ring. How would you have accessorized these ensembles?

The Countess of Wessex added a pop of color to her outfit with square-cut lemon quartz drops from Heavenly Necklaces, worn suspended from a pair of diamond stud earrings. I’m most interested, however, in her absolutely gorgeous diamond rose brooch, worn pinned just above her badge.

Princess Michael of Kent was also in the carriage procession today, wearing a station necklace set with baroque pearls and dark beads, as well as large gold earrings set with pearls, diamonds, and enamel.
