The Wales/Cambridge/Sussex family was out in force on Monday for the christening of their newest member, Prince Louis of Cambridge. Here’s a look at some of the jewelry they wore for the little prince’s big day.
The jewelry star of the show was Prince Louis’s mum, the Duchess of Cambridge, who wore a lovely pair of pearl cluster earrings with a floral design for the occasion.
The earrings are the Cavolfiore Pearl Earrings from Cassandra Goad. Each of the seven pearls in the earring is set with a small diamond in yellow gold. The brand’s website explains that the design was inspired by “the clusters of young flower stalks of the cauliflower (cavolfiore)” in a Sicilian market.
We also caught a glimpse of her engagement, wedding, and eternity rings as she held the baby prince. (Sidenote: I also like Kate’s headpiece, which I expect will be a divisive one. Maybe I’ve just been doing too much research on Russian imperial jewels lately, but there seems to be something distinctly kokoshnik about the thing.)
The Duchess of Cornwall kept things smartly low-key jewelry wise, wearing two favorite pieces: her pearl drop earrings and her four-stranded pearl necklace with the round diamond clasp. Appropriately, she also wore a gold bracelet with a cross charm on her left wrist.
Baby Louis’s new aunt, the Duchess of Sussex, also went for her usual minimal jewelry look, adding some sparkle to her olive green ensemble with the Cartier earrings she wore on her wedding day.
The christening gave us our first real glimpse of the Cambridges as a family of five. Look how tall George has gotten!
And, because it’s his day, after all, here’s a look at gorgeous little Louis, who apparently snoozed through his entire encounter with the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Holy Spirit. I’m sure his parents thanked him profusely.
