Like her big sister, Benedikte reached for turquoises from her jewelry box for the event. These earrings are part of her personal collection; they’ve also been worn in the past by her younger daughter, Princess Nathalie. In 2004, Benedikte wore the earrings for another pre-wedding gala, this time during the celebrations for her nephew, Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark.

Benedikte paired the turquoises with an impressive five-stranded pearl choker necklace. But perhaps the most special parts of her jewelry ensemble were the diamond stars scattered across the bodice of her gown. These stars belonged to Queen Victoria of Sweden, Benedikte’s great-grandmother. Benedikte inherited them from her mother, Queen Ingrid, who was born a Swedish princess. Choosing the stars was an especially lovely gesture for this particular event, which honored Queen Victoria’s namesake, Crown Princess Victoria.

Benedikte continued the theme of stacked pearls on her right wrist with a strand of pearls that was twisted to make a large bracelet.

She also wore a pearl and diamond cluster ring on her right hand.
