Princess Madeleine, Victoria’s younger sister, arrived at the pre-wedding dinner and concert in an icy gray-blue gown and several important pieces of diamond jewelry from the family’s collections.

Her necklace is an alternate setting of the Modern Fringe Tiara, which was then still being worn by both Madeleine and Queen Silvia. Later, the tiara was given to Madeleine, who wore it on her wedding day in its tiara form.

She also wore perhaps the most important earrings in the Bernadotte collection: the Vasa Earrings. These diamond stunners, which feature hand-cut briolette drops, date to the eighteenth century. They originally belonged to Queen Louise Ulrika of Sweden. Madeleine wore the earrings on her wedding day as well.

The diamond surprises didn’t stop with the necklace and earrings, though: Madeleine also brought along family diamonds in her hair.

One of the family’s grand diamond rose brooches was nestled in Madeleine’s hair for the event. (More on the brooch over here!)
