For a Bernadotte royal wedding in June 2015, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden wore a tiara with major importance to the Swedish royal family. Here’s a look at the jewels she wore for the wedding of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia!
For the wedding, Crown Princess Victoria wore a custom gown from H&M’s Conscious Collection. The linen, silk, and tulle dress featured an abstract print with a feathery design. Victoria also wore the sash and star of the Order of the Seraphim, plus her father’s Royal Family Order.
Crown Princess Victoria wore diamonds and pearls with her gown. The Connaught Diamond Tiara was perched atop her head. It’s an important family tiara with rich royal history. Given to Princess Margaret of Connaught by her parents as a wedding gift in 1905, the tiara became a favorite piece of Princess Sibylla. Today, the Bernadottes even call the piece “Princess Sibylla’s Tiara,” out of affection for Victoria’s late grandmother.
Victoria paired the tiara with diamond and pearl drop earrings from the family vaults, plus one of the Bernadotte diamond bow brooch. The brooch features a central pearl and a pearl pendant. Victoria finished off the jewelry look with a tennis bracelet on her right wrist.
It was a particularly lovely gesture for Victoria to wear the tiara at her brother’s wedding, bringing their grandmother close to the festivities, even though Princess Sibylla sadly died before she got to meet either of them.
