As August transitions to September this evening, we’ve got one more look at the month’s grassy green birthstone, the peridot. Our Sparkling Spotlight shines today on peridot and blue topaz earrings from the collection of the Duchess of Cambridge.
Just a few days before their first wedding anniversary in April 2012, William and Kate arrived at BFI Southbank in London for a special screening of the documentary African Cats, in aid of Tusk Trust.
Kate wore a gray dress by designer Matthew Williamson for the event. The dress came with its own accessories: a jeweled collar and sleeve embellishments. The eye-catching design included turquoises and gold beads.
With the dress, Kate wore a bright, colorful pair of earrings from one of her favorite jewelry brands. These peridot and blue topaz earrings are part of the Kiki Classic line from Kiki McDonough. (Kate’s Kiki collection is legendary—more over here!)
The blue and green colors of the gemstones coordinated beautifully with the green and blue shades from the embellishments on the dress.
I love when Kate wears colorful jewelry—it really seems to suit her. We haven’t seen these earrings in a while, but as they’re some of my favorites from her Kiki collection, I’d love to see her bring them out again!
