Queen Maxima of the Netherlands has been out and about on several royal engagements lately, wearing brightly colored clothing and jewels to match. Today, we’ve got a look at three recent appearances, with fun earrings at every turn.
On Tuesday, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima made a regional visit to Salland. The day featured several stops, including visits to the village of Heeten, Kasteel de Haere in Olst-Wijhe, and the harbor and a factory in Deventer.
Queen Maxima wore a bright green dress with a floral pattern and a pleated design for the engagements, accessorized with a hat, gloves, handbag, and shoes in a deep shade of oxblood.
She accessorized with a pair of earrings from Amrapali, featuring green and purple gemstones. Queen Maxima has worn these on previous occasions. Earrings from the brand have also been spotted on the Duchess of Cambridge.
On Wednesday, Maxima stopped by the House of Culture and Administration of the municipality of Midden-Groningen, where she spoke with local students.
Her outfit for Wednesday’s engagement was more neutral, with shades of brown, tan, and beige. Her large picture hat was in a similarly neutral hue.
Her earrings, though, provided a bit more color and interest. These gold earrings, with polished cabochon drops in shades of brown and blue, were made by Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, and Maxima’s also worn them on previous occasions. It should come as no surprise that Crown Princess Mary of Denmark is also a big fan of this jewelry brand, and she owns a very similar pair of earrings.
On Thursday, Maxima made a very interesting stop in Amsterdam. At the Science Park, she attended the opening of the national supercomputer, Snellius. The new supercomputer provides ten times more computing power than its predecessor.
The queen was pretty in pink for the occasion, with a romantic blouse and a feminine floral headpiece. Eagle-eyed Dutch reporters also noted that she was wearing a splint on her right hand. After press inquiries, it was revealed that Maxima has recently fractured her hand in an accident, and had been suffering from pain for some time. No other details about the accident were shared.
The splint wasn’t Maxima’s only accessory. She also wore a pair of colorful button-style earrings from her collection. The jewels, which are set with various semi-precious gems in shades of blue, pink, and yellow, have been in her jewelry box for some time.
An editorial note: Prinsjesdag, the annual Dutch opening of parliament, is taking place today! We’ll have full coverage of all the jewels from the event tomorrow morning on TCJ. Stay tuned!
