Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel headed south to Italy this week for a diplomatic visit, and Victoria took the opportunity to add a little Roman flair to her Scandinavian style.
Victoria and Daniel headed to Italy’s capital city for a diplomatic visit focused on strengthening trade and investment relationships between the two nations. On Monday, they were joined by the Swedish ambassador to Rome, Jan Bjorklund, for a visit to ANAS, which operates Italy’s highways. The royals toured a new “smart road” center during the visit.
They also made a visit to the Piazza San Silvestro, a historic square in the heart of Rome, to attend the inauguration of a new exhibition, “Images That Change the World.” They were accompanied by Ambassador Bjorklund, as well as Italian executives from two important Swedish companies, IKEA and Ericsson.
For the first day of engagements, Victoria wore an ensemble that married Scandinavian sensibilities with Italian cool. She paired structured, neutral basics with glamorous gold and snakeskin accessories, and even tied a silk scarf in her hair. Her gold belt and her handbag both come from the famed Italian brand Bottega Veneta.
Chunky gold hoop earrings were the star of the jewelry for the first day of the trip. Victoria also wore her usual layered delicate bracelets on her left wrist.
The small pin on her top is, I believe, a miniature star of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. You’ll note that Prince Daniel is also wearing a similar pin on his lapel.
On Monday evening, the royal couple attended a dinner at the Swedish ambassador’s residence in Rome.
Victoria and Daniel posed with Ambassador Bjorklund and his wife, Anette Brifalk, outside the residence.
The crown princess sparkled in a new gown festooned with silvery sequins for the dinner. The dress was made by one of Victoria’s favorite Swedish designers, By Malina. The color of the gown is actually lilac.
She paired modern gemstone drop earrings with the sparkling gown. You’ll note that the small pin from the Order of Merit is again pinned to her dress.
On Tuesday, the royals undertook engagements in Rome before traveling to Turin. One of their stops was the headquarters of the Italian telecommunications company Open Fiber in Rome.
Victoria wore diamond and pearl drop earrings with a neutral ensemble for the day’s engagements.
She also added a necklace with a small sparkling pendant, as well as the Order of Merit pin.
The visit wrapped up on Wednesday with a series of engagements in Turin, including stops at the Stellantis manufacturing plant and the Unione Industriale.
Crown Princess Victoria chose a chic gray sweater dress for Wednesday’s visits, paired with black accessories.
She added a matching sweater wrap to the ensemble for a little bit of warmth and flair.
Big, bold jewelry finished off the look: textured silver hoop earrings, and a chunky silver chain necklace.
