Today’s royal February Flashback takes us to February 2006, and a dazzling state dinner appearance by Queen Sirikit of Thailand.
In February 2006, King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand, along with other members of the royal family, welcomed French President Jacques Chirac and his wife, Bernadette, to Bangkok for a state visit. A black-tie gala dinner at the Royal Palace was held on the first evening of the visit.
Here’s a look at the evening gowns and accessories worn by Madame Chirac and Queen Sirikit for the dinner.
Queen Sirikit accessorized her golden gown with major jewels, including a necklace, earrings, and a bracelet.
Her necklace, made of white diamonds, featured large pear-shaped gemstone drops. Her earrings coordinated with the golden color of the drops.
I’m not sure if these are gold gems like citrines or spectacular yellow diamonds. Either way, they’re magnificent!
