On Saturday, the Swedes celebrated Crown Princess Victoria’s name day in Stockholm, and the family coordinated their ensembles for the occasion.
For the first time since the pandemic began, Crown Princess Victoria’s name day was celebrated with a tribute from members of the armed forces at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. She was joined by Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle, and Prince Oscar for the ceremony.
In Sweden, people often celebrate their name days, based on a calendar that’s been in use since 2001. The idea originates with religious feast days, but has been expanded and updated over time. Victoria’s name day is March 12, and the rest of her family celebrates on December 11 (Daniel), August 15 (Estelle), and December 1 (Oscar). I think my name day is January 15, assuming that Lauren is celebrated with Laura. You can find your name day on the list here!
The entire family coordinated in clothing in various shades of gray. According to UFO No More, Victoria wore a wool and cashmere coat from Balmuir for the event.
She also wore a pair of spiky silver hoop earrings for the occasion. UFO No More identifies these as the Pyramid Large Hoops from Sophie by Sophie, one of Victoria’s go-to jewelry brands.
Here’s another look at the earrings that shows the spiky “pyramid” detailing more clearly.
It’s lovely to see some of these traditional royal moments coming back to life again—and always great to see the adorable royal kids from Sweden out and about!
