We saw a rare joint engagement today from two British royal ladies, the Princess Royal and the Duchess of Cambridge, who both wore elegant jewelry for the occasion.
The Duchess and the Princess arrived at the headquarters of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) in London on Wednesday afternoon for a special joint visit. Kate is the patron of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and Anne is the patron of the Royal College of Midwives.
According to royal correspondent Simon Perry, the visit included “a roundtable meeting, [during which] the two princesses will take part in a discussion with experts and new moms about the measures being taken to tackle inequalities in maternity care. And they will be shown some of the pioneering work being done to improve essential gynecological skills at a local level and worldwide.”
Princess Anne was dressed in dark turquoise blue for the occasion, with an elegant pashmina for an accessory.
She also wore a few pieces of classic jewelry: gold earrings and a gold necklace, as well as her engagement and wedding rings.
Kate was ultra elegant in cream for the visit, wearing an embroidered jacket with a matching skirt and coordinating accessories.
She continued the monochromatic theme with her jewels for the event. She wore a pair of earrings she’s had in her jewelry box for years: her diamond Kiki McDonough hoop earrings with her Annoushka pearl drops.
Kate loves a coordinating set of jewelry, and she matched her earrings to her necklace for Wednesday’s engagement. She wore a Monica Vinader gold necklace with a pearl drop pendant.
We previously saw Kate wear the necklace during her recent trip to Copenhagen. She paired the necklace with a different pair of pearl drop earrings (from the Danish-Irish jeweler Maria Black) in Denmark.
Here’s one more look at both royal ensembles from today’s visit.
