Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia made a glamorous, fun gala appearance last night—and both of them were pretty in pink for the occasion!
The royal couple were on hand to present an award at the QX Gay Gala, an LGBTQ awards ceremony in Stockholm. They presented the cheekily-named “Hetero of the Year” award to musician, songwriter, and producer Benjamin Ingrosso. He’s been making music in Sweden since childhood, and in 2018, he represented the nation in the Eurovision Song Contest. In a fun little twist, one of his first hit songs, way back in 2006, was called “Hej Sofia.”
Princess Sofia wore a very fun ensemble for the ceremony that coordinated nicely with the bright pink accent colors on the stage. The eagle-eyed fashion experts at UFO No More have identified the bright pink dress, with its tiered skirt and bow detail at the neck, as a Lars Wallin creation. He’s been designing clothes for the Bernadotte ladies for years, and Crown Princess Victoria has been a particular fan of his work. (This is one of Victoria’s most famous Wallin gown appearances.) Appropriately, he has also designed clothes and costumes for Eurovision, and he’s a member of the LGBTQ community.
With the vibrant evening gown, Princess Sofia also wore a playful pair of glittery statement earrings.
UFO No More comes in clutch for us here as well, identifying these as the “Love Rain Pink Glitter Cloud” earrings from Clara Fina. The earrings feature pink glittering clouds with red glitter hearts raining down from them. They’re handmade in Gothenburg.
Here’s another look at Sofia wearing the earrings. Really fun and absolutely perfect for the occasion!
She also wore rings on both hands: her engagement and wedding rings on her left hand, and a textured gold ring on her right.
And Princess Sofia wasn’t the only one who had a little fun with gala wear at this event. Prince Carl Philip was handsome as always in a tuxedo with a subtle print.
He also wore a bright pink flower made from the same fabric used in Sofia’s gown—a really fun extra coordinating touch!
