The Duchess of Cornwall sparkled in gala jewels for a pair of events during her recent trip to Rwanda—including a dazzling new diamond accessory bestowed by the Queen just a few days ago.
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall traveled to Rwanda last week for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, and they undertook a series of engagements in the country while they were there. One of their stops was a presentation held on Thursday as a part of Kigali Fashion Week.
Camilla wore a flowing white trouser suit from one of her go-to designers, Anna Valentine, for the fashion show. She added embroidered accessories to the ensemble.
With the outfit, Camilla wore a favorite pair of earrings: the diamond Magic Alhambra Earrings from Van Cleef & Arpels. She also wore a necklace with two familiar pendants. One is the Kiki McDonough Apollo charm, and the other is a gold disc engraved with the initials of her five grandchildren.
She also wore bracelets on both wrists: a stack of gold chains, including another Magic Alhambra piece, on her right wrist, and a diamond bangle with an elephant design on her left wrist. This photo also shows her engagement and wedding rings nicely.
On Friday, the prince and the duchess attended the annual CHOGM dinner. In the past, the Queen has worn tiaras for this event (and so has Camilla). This time around, Camilla’s gala jewels were more in line with the black-tie dress code for the event.
Camilla wore an evening gown in a gorgeous shade of blue with a matching lace overlay. The gown was made by another favorite designer, Bruce Oldfield. Camilla recently wore the same dress for a photograph published in British Vogue, accessorized on that occasion with Princess Marie Louise’s Diamond Sunburst Brooch.
This time around, Camilla wore different diamonds from her collection with the dress. She chose the earrings from her pear-shaped diamond demi-parure. You’ll spot a thin gold chain around her neck, which I’m sure holds the same two pendants she wore for the fashion show the previous day. Additionally, Camilla wore two important pieces presented to her by the Queen: the star of the Order of the Garter (which she received earlier this month when she was installed as a royal lady of the order), and the Queen’s Royal Family Order.
