Very few royal ladies can carry off a fun, playful statement earring quite like Queen Máxima—and the pearly floral pair that she wore today is a prime example!
The Queen of the Netherlands headed to Rotterdam today for the launch of a new campaign to raise awareness about myopia at Erasmus University Medical Center.
During the visit, Queen Máxima spoke with eye specialists and children with myopia, as well as their parents. (On a personal side note: as someone who has dealt with progressive nearsightedness since childhood, I think this is an excellent cause, and I’m really pleased that Máxima is bringing awareness to the issue!)
For the launch, Queen Máxima chose a smart casual outfit: an ivory dress with brown accents and accessories. Her coordinating handbag featured a floral pattern.
She carried that floral theme through to her earrings. The button-style statement earrings have a pearlescent flower design.
On her left wrist, Máxima stacked diamond bracelets with her watch, including her diamond wedding bracelet.
She also wore rings on both hands: her engagement and wedding rings on her left, and her diamond and padparadscha sapphire ring on her right. The sapphire ring was a gift from King Willem-Alexander to celebrate the birth of their second daughter, Princess Alexia, in 2005.
