The Prince and Princess of Wales made an unannounced visit to Northern Ireland on Thursday, and Kate mixed pink and gold jewelry with shades of blue for the occasion.

Royal visits to Northern Ireland generally aren’t announced ahead of time (for security reasons). William and Kate made their first visit to the country since the death of the late Queen and their accession to the Wales title on October 6.

In Belfast, the couple visited PIPS Suicide Prevention, a charity which offers crisis support for those at risk of suicide and self-harm.

During the visit, Kate helped to assemble care packages, called “Little Boxes of Hope.”

Next, the couple headed to the Trademarket outdoor market, where they competed to see who could make a signature cocktail the fastest.

(William was the winner.)

Next, William and Kate headed to Carrickfergus, a town in County Antrim with special meaning to them. On their wedding day in April 2011, Queen Elizabeth II bestowed a trio of titles on William: Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn, and Baron Carrickfergus, representing England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. (Wales is now represented by his newest title, of course.)

They were joined by the Vice Lord Lieutenant of County Antrim, Miranda Gordon, for a visit to Carrick Connect, a youth charity that offers support services to local young people experiencing social or emotional difficulties. During the engagement, Kate got the chance to cuddle one of the youngest local residents.

With her blue blouse and coat, Kate chose a pair of contrasting earrings in shades of pink and gold.

These are the Mini Pyramid Charm Hoop Earrings from the brand Missoma. Made of gold-plated vermeil over sterling silver, the earrings are set with rhodochrosite, a mineral with a variegated rosy-brown color. She’s had the earrings in her jewelry box since September 2020.

We also got an excellent close-up of Kate’s signature rings during Thursday’s visit: her iconic sapphire engagement ring, plus her gold wedding band and (hidden a bit beneath her engagement ring) her diamond eternity band.
