December’s other gorgeous birthstone also made an appearance this week! Here’s a look at the spectacular tanzanites worn by Queen Máxima of the Netherlands in Tilburg.
The Queen of the Netherlands was on hand for the opening of a new exhibition, “Royal Embroidery – Stories and Craftmanship” at the Textile Museum in Tilburg on Wednesday.
She viewed the exhibition during her visit, and posed here beside some gorgeous embroidered curtains. Her yellow and navy outfit, with its matching turban-style hat, was a modern nod to the embroidery theme as well.
With the ensemble, Máxima wore one of my favorite pairs of earrings from her jewelry box. The earrings are set with diamonds and tanzanites, and the drop portion of the earring is turned slightly for a modern diamond-shaped effect.
Here’s a closer look at the earrings from a previous appearance. Aren’t the tanzanites incredible? So vivid and purple-blue. They also have a matching cocktail-style ring with another tanzanite set in a halo of diamonds.
Máxima is a big fan of this jewelry-outfit pairing. She’s worn it once before (without the hat), for a reception for the diplomatic corps at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam in January 2020.
She wore the matching ring for Wednesday’s museum visit as well, along with her emerald and sapphire tennis bracelets and her diamond family initial bracelet.
