This week, the Prince and Princess of Wales stepped out in London to attend the launch of a new charitable campaign, and Catherine recycled a pair of striking statement earrings for the occasion.
On Monday, William and Kate headed to BAFTA’s historic headquarters at 195 Piccadilly in central London for a launch event for “Shaping Us,” a new charitable campaign from the Royal Foundation’s Centre for Early Childhood spearheaded by the Princess. The press release for the event explains that the campaign “aims to increase public understanding of the crucial importance [of] the first five years of a child’s life” and hopes “to transform the issue from one of scientific interest to one of the most strategically important topics of our time.” The event included the screening of a special short film that highlights the ways that early experiences affect the development of babies and children.
For the pre-campaign launch event, Kate wore a vibrant red trouser suit by Alexander McQueen, and William helpfully coordinated his red tie to match.
Kate accessorized with a pair of earrings she debuted last June. The statement pieces are the “Florence” earrings from the brand Chalk.
Here’s a closer look at the earrings from Monday’s appearance. The brand is run by architect Malaika Carr, who makes each piece of jewelry by hand. The Florence earrings were inspired by the architecture of London’s Royal Opera House.
Kate wore the earrings for the first time last June, for a pair of engagements in London. Here, she wears the earrings for the unveiling of the National Windrush Monument at Waterloo Station.
On the same day, she also wore the earrings for a visit to the ELEVATE initiative at Brixton House.

On Tuesday, the Princess arrived at the University of Leeds for the official launch of the “Shaping Us” campaign. She met with university students working toward degrees in the Childhood Studies program as part of the event.
With a green Alexander McQueen coat and an ivory Victoria Beckham dress, Kate wore a pair of gold hoop earrings.
These are the Biaritz Squiggle Earrings from Shyla London. They’re made of gold-plated silver. She previously wore the earrings courtside to watch the Boston Celtics play the Miami Heat during the couple’s visit to Boston in November 2022.
As always, Kate finished off the look with her iconic sapphire and diamond engagement ring, worn with her gold wedding band and diamond eternity ring.
