We talked earlier this week about a striking pair of statement earrings worn by Queen Máxima during her trip to Morocco, and today, we’ve got even more sparkle from the visit, thanks to some gorgeous daytime diamonds!
Queen Máxima headed to Morocco this week in her role as a special representative for the UN Secretary-General for Financial Inclusion and Development. On Wednesday, she wrapped up the visit with a stop in Rabat.
There, she attended numerous meetings, including visits with the governor of Morocco’s Central Bank, as well as the Minister of Economics and Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch.
Máxima wore a wine-colored trouser suit and blouse with matching accessories for the final day of the visit.
She also, rather delightfully, piled on the diamonds! It’s somewhat rare to see Máxima wear quite so many grand diamond pieces during the day, but I’m extremely pleased that she did. The spotlight pieces of the ensemble were the classic diamond rivière necklace and the diamond floral scroll brooch. The brooch belonged to Queen Wilhelmina.
She wore a major pair of diamond cluster earrings as well.
You’ll also spot rings on both her hands: her engagement and wedding rings on her left, and her diamond and ruby ring on her right. The ruby ring was a gift from King Willem-Alexander in 2003 to celebrate the birth of Princess Amalia.
