This weekend, the Grimaldis gathered for the annual Rose Ball in Monaco, and there was plenty of glitz and glamour on display—including some gorgeous jewels.
This year’s ball, which is a benefit for the Princess Grace Foundation, had a “Bollywood” theme.
Prince Albert II of Monaco and his sister, Princess Caroline, arrived for the gala with designer Christian Louboutin.
Princess Caroline’s family also traditionally attends this annual Monegasque event. This year, all of her children were present: Andrea and Tatiana Casiraghi, Charlotte Casiraghi, Pierre and Beatrice Casiraghi, and Princess Alexandra of Hanover and Ben-Sylvester Strautmann. Albert and Caroline’s American cousin, Christopher Levine Sr., was in attendance as well.
For the ball, Princess Caroline wore a gray and pink sequin gown from Chanel with Louboutin sandals.
She accessorized with jewels that have been in her closet for some time: quatrefoil earrings from JAR, which are set with multi-colored gemstones.
She’s been wearing the earrings for gala events for more than 25 years. Here, she wears them for the Rose Ball in 1997.
Here, she wears the earrings at the Red Cross Gala in August 1998. She’s also wearing her gorgeous Chaumet diamond wing ornaments.
And here, she wears the quatrefoil earrings with a colorful gown at the Rose Ball in March 2010.
For Saturday’s Rose Ball, Caroline also wore bracelets on both wrists and an enormous cocktail ring on her right hand.
We previously saw her wear the ring, which features a huge orange-red gem in a modern diamond setting, at last year’s Rose Ball.
The Casiraghi ladies wore their best sparkling gowns for the evening as well. Beatrice Borromeo Casiraghi was in Christian Dior, Charlotte Casiraghi Rassam wore Chanel, and Tatiana Santo Domingo Casiraghi opted for Jenny Packham.
Charlotte accessorized with a pair of Chanel star earrings, plus a gold chain with a heart-shaped diamond charm.
We’ve seen her wear the necklace before, notably at the Rose Ball in March 2019.
Tatiana wore a pair of hoop earrings and a gold necklace, adding even more sparkle to an already-glittering neckline.
She also wore a diamond bracelet on her left wrist and a really interesting ring on her right hand.
Beatrice was a stand-out as usual at this year’s ball, wearing a striking floral headpiece also made by Christian Dior and a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings. (I’d wager that they’re Buccalleti, but I don’t know for sure.)
Here’s a look at the headband as it was styled by the designer. (Thanks to UFO No More for the ID!)
EDIT: The good people at Dior reached out to let me know that Beatrice is decked out in head-to-hand Dior Haute Joaillerie pieces as well. Here’s a closer look at the Dior Rose earrings, made of white gold and set with white and yellow diamonds.
She’s also wearing a matching ring from the Dior Rose collection.
And the look was finished off with more yellow and white diamonds, set in a Couture Nuit ring.
Princess Caroline’s younger daughter, Princess Alexandra of Hanover, attended the ball with her longtime boyfriend, Ben-Sylvester Strautmann. Alexandra opted for an elegant black gown for the event.
She accessorized with jewelry borrowed from her mother: a pair of diamond earrings with carved emerald drops. (She also wore bracelets and rings, but I wasn’t able to get a great look at those, sadly.)
These earrings have also been in Caroline’s jewelry box for years. Here, she wears them at the Red Cross gala in August 2003.
And here, she wears them at the Rose Ball in March 2006. Carved emeralds are such an important part of India’s jewelry heritage, so they were a very appropriate choice for a Bollywood-inspired gala.
