The delightful trend of men wearing major jewelry for Hollywood events continued on Sunday at the Oscars. My favorite example? The gorgeous Michael B. Jordan in a pair of iconic brooches from Tiffany & Co.
Actor Michael B. Jordan arrived on the champagne-colored carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday to take part in the 95th annual Academy Awards ceremony. He presented the award for Best Cinematography.
With his Louis Vuitton tuxedo, Jordan wore jewelry from Tiffany & Co., including diamond stud earrings and a pair of familiar brooches.
Jordan’s stylist, Jason Bolden, pinned not one but two of the famed “Bird on a Rock” brooches, originally designed for Tiffany by the fabulous Jean Schlumberger, to Jordan’s lapel.
Here’s a closer look at the brooches. The larger of the two brooches features a large green tourmaline, while the smaller is set with a pink morganite.
This wasn’t the first time that Jordan has worn Bird on a Rock brooches for a Hollywood event. In February, he wore another pair of the brooches on his tuxedo jacket at the London premiere of his latest film, Creed III. On that occasion, he wore an amethyst brooch and an aquamarine brooch.
Here’s a closer look at another Tiffany Bird on a Rock Brooch with a large amethyst. This particular piece, which dates to the 1980s, is being sold via 1stDibs for $69,500.
We also recently saw an amethyst Bird on a Rock brooch on Jay-Z at this year’s Grammy Awards.
He also wore a citrine Bird on a Rock brooch for the Oscars last year, in March 2022. For me, this may have been the best outing of the bunch, because the lighter color of his jacket really allowed the beautiful color of the gems to shine.
Here’s another similar Bird on a Rock brooch, set with a citrine, currently being sold at 1stDibs.
And here’s one more look at Michael B. Jordan’s tourmaline and morganite versions from this week’s Oscars.
