Princess Caroline Sparkles in Emeralds (and a Fantastic Brooch!) at the Cannes Film Festival

Princess Caroline walked the red carpet at Cannes ahead of a screening of Martin Scorsese’s new film, Killers of the Flower Moon, on Saturday. Attending the film festival is sort baked in to Caroline’s DNA—after all, her parents first met during Grace Kelly’s trip to the Riviera for the same film festival back in 1955.

On Saturday, Princess Caroline arrived for the film screening with two members of her extended family: her longtime friend, the French actress Carole Bouquet, and film producer Paul Rassam, the brother of Bouquet’s late partner, Jean-Pierre Rassam. In 2019, Bouquet’s son (and Rassam’s nephew) Dimitri Rassam married Princess Caroline’s daughter, Charlotte Casiraghi. Caroline and Bouquet are the grandmothers of Dimitri and Charlotte’s son, Balthazar. (More on them in just a second.)

Caroline was chic in a trouser suit with a tweed jacket and sparkling spectator pumps for the screening. (As usual, I’m pretty sure this is all Chanel.)

What really caught my eye, though, were Caroline’s jewels, including this gorgeous pair of diamond earrings with luscious emerald cabochon drops. These are similar to, but not the same as, another pair of earrings from Caroline’s jewelry collection.

You’d be forgiven for missing the other interesting piece of jewelry from Caroline’s ensemble: this beautiful vintage buckle brooch.

The brooch, which appears to be made of rock crystal set with diamonds and emeralds, looks to be an Art Deco piece. Sadly, the brooch got lost a bit against the tweed jacket, which has sequins and metallic thread in its fabric.

The day was a true family affair, because Princess Caroline’s daughter, Charlotte Casiraghi, and Carole Bouquet’s son, Dimitri Rassam, also walked the red carpet at the same screening. Charlotte’s ensemble also looks to be head-to-toe Chanel—she’s even got the brand’s iconic interlocking Cs logo painted on her thumbnail.

She accessorized with a pair of diamond and pearl earrings.
