The eyes of Britain and the world were on Windsor on Sunday evening, where a grand coronation concert was held in honor of King Charles III and Queen Camilla—and there was plenty of statement jewelry on display, including the Princess of Wales in an iconic demi-parure.
Members of the royal family watched the coronation concert from the royal box. King Charles and Queen Camilla were joined in the front row by the Waleses, the Edinburghs, and the Gloucesters.
The Princess of Wales arrived in bright red, rewearing a red Alexander McQueen trouser suit that she recently donned for the launch of her “Shaping Us” campaign in London.
Kate accessorized with a pair of earrings and a necklace with a familiar (perhaps even iconic) modern design.
The jewels come from Van Cleef & Arpels’s Magic Alhambra collection. The necklace and earrings are made of mother-of-pearl set in yellow gold.
We first saw Kate wear the suite of jewels three years ago at the BAFTAs in February 2020.
Kate watched the glittering performances alongside Princess Charlotte.
And Prince William and Prince George clearly enjoyed themselves as well.
Kate’s choice of Van Cleef & Arpels for the evening could be a tribute to Queen Camilla, who has an extensive and much-loved personal collection of jewelry from the firm. For Sunday evening’s concert, though, she went in a different direction, wearing golden earrings with her favorite necklaces and bracelets.
Here’s a better look at the gold statement earrings that Camilla selected from her jewelry box for the concert.
The Duchess of Edinburgh also chose a fun pair of earrings for the event.
And Lady Louise gleamed in a gold necklace and big statement earrings as well.
As did Zara Tindall, who chose a leafy gold pair for the concert.
Okay, now I’m taking a bit of a breather! We’ll be back here with tiaras bright and early on Wednesday morning, so stay tuned!
