We’re back in Cannes for a third day this week, marveling at an incredible brooch moment brought to us by the actress Viola Davis.
Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis walked the red carpet at Cannes on Wednesday of last week, wearing a rather incredible ensemble with gorgeous jewels. Her gown was designed by Valentino’s creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli. The Grecian-inspired dress was topped by a massive cape of ostrich feathers. It’s over the top and theatrical—in other words, perfect for the Cannes Film Festival.
Stylist Elizabeth Stewart added more sparkle to Viola’s outfit thanks to jewels from Chopard.
Chopard is an official partner of the film festival—they make the Palme d’Or—and its jewels have been all over the red carpet as usual this year. (The 76 pieces in the firm’s annual Red Carpet High Jewelry collection this year are inspired by the arts.) Viola wore a pair of diamond earrings…
…but the show-stopping jewel from her ensemble was, without a doubt, the orchid brooch pinned to the shoulder of her dress.
The gorgeous, naturalistic brooch is set with diamonds and various shades of pink and purple gemstones.
The brooch added an extra playful, glamorous touch that elevated the outfit even more for me.
And between the diamonds and the feathers, Viola was clearly having a blast, too. I love a fun jewelry moment, don’t you?
