On Monday, the King and Queen of Spain made a glamorous appearance at an awards ceremony, including some gorgeous gold and diamond jewelry.
King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain attended the ABC Journalism Awards in Madrid on Monday evening. ABC is one of the oldest newspapers in Spain. The ceremony features the presentation of the Mariano de Cavia, Luca de Tena, and Mingote Awards for excellence in journalism.
Felipe and Letizia—who is a former journalist herself—have attended the awards presentation often throughout the years. Above, they’re pictured at the event in June 2008, when they were still the Prince and Princess of Asturias. Letizia wore diamond hoops and her diamond Cartier bracelet with a royal blue dress for that year’s ceremony.
In December 2016, Letizia went for an edgy look for the ceremony, pairing modern white gold earrings with a sequined Nina Ricci dress.
In July 2020, Letizia wore a strapless red gown with structural details and her ruby cabochon drop earrings for the ceremony.
This year, Queen Letizia shone in vibrant aquamarine blue silk for the awards ceremony.
Queen Letizia Style tells us that the outfit is actually separates—the Grace top and skirt from the brand Maksu, which has its flagship store in Madrid.
With the silk separates, Letizia wore gold accessories, including a pair of Tous earrings from her jewelry box.
The long gold earrings are made up of five shell-shaped segments with a small diamond accent. She’s been wearing the earrings for many years.
The versatile earrings have made appearances at both day and evening events, including palace receptions and concerts.
They even accompanied Letizia on a state visit to Japan in 2017.
She’s worn them with various colors and clothing styles, including several of her signature red dresses.
For Monday’s awards ceremony, Queen Letizia wore a ring she’s been sporting regularly for six months. The gold ring, from the brand Coreterno, is engraved with the final line from Dante’s Divine Comedy.
