The glittering Golden Jubilee festivities drew to a close in Stockholm on Saturday with a big party for members of the public, including a procession and a concert.
The men and women Sweden’s armed forces were in the ceremonial finest on Saturday in Stockholm, where they paraded, sailed, and flew to celebrate the 50th anniversary of King Carl XVI Gustaf’s accession to the throne.
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia greeted members of the public who lined the streets of the city during a special procession, riding in an open carriage.
The procession even included a sail on Stockholm’s waterways in the royal barge, the Vasaorden.
Queen Silvia waved brightly to the crowds as they sailed along.
Lots of people gathered to catch a glimpse of the King and Queen along the way.
Back at the Royal Palace, Carl Gustaf and Silvia joined in the celebrations there, too.
A military flypast was also part of the celebrations.
Members of the Swedish royal family were present for the celebrations at the palace as well, watching from a staircase balcony.
Queen Silvia’s Golden Jubilee wardrobe wrapped up with a sunny yellow ensemble. UFO No More tells us that the suit, like last night’s evening gown, was made by Georg et Arend.
She accessorized with her carved flower brooch and matching earrings, plus a pearl torsade necklace and a two-stranded pearl bracelet. She wore a cluster ring on her right hand as well.
The pearl bracelet has a diamond clasp that features Silvia’s royal monogram.
The other ladies of the family wore day dresses and suits for the occasion.
Crown Princess Victoria paired a blue floral dress with earrings featuring blue gemstones. (Sapphires? Tanzanites?)
Princess Madeleine wore a powder blue suit with long diamond and pearl drop earrings. Princess Estelle, who wore a green floral dress, again chose simple stud earrings.
And Princess Sofia wore pink, plus modern-looking earrings that I think are set with dark green gemstones.
