Last week, the King and Queen of Sweden headed to Mexico for a state visit, and Queen Silvia brought out a lovely diamond demi-parure for a gala dinner in Mexico City.
On the first evening of the Swedish state visit to Mexico, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a gala dinner. They’re pictured here at the JW Marriott Hotel in Mexico City with the Swedish ambassador to Mexico, Gunnar Aldén, and his wife, Sara.
Queen Silvia wore a peachy-gold dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline and tiered sleeves for the dinner, paired with metallic accessories. UFO No More tells us that the dress comes from Maknam.
She wore gold and diamond jewelry with the dress, including her Cartier Love Bracelet and an interesting suite of modern diamond jewels.
The set appears to be made of diamonds set in yellow gold, and it looks to me like it has at least four coordinating pieces with pear-shaped and marquise-cut diamonds used throughout the set. Here’s a good look at the earrings and necklace. Silvia also layered a second gold chain with small, bezel-set gemstone drops under the more substantial diamond necklace.
Here’s a look at the brooch from the set, which she pinned to the top of her dress. It echoes the design of the earrings.
And on her right wrist, she wore a diamond bracelet that appears to have the same design as the necklace.
Here’s one more look at the diamond set, plus Silvia’s additional bracelets, from the gala dinner.
