As we continue catching up with recent sparkling royal appearances, we’ve got an outing of a couple of amazing arachnids from the collection of Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.
On Tuesday, March 26, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands headed to Skatepark in The Hague for the launch of a new mental health support initiative.
As the honorary patron of MindUS, an organization that develops programs to support the mental health of young people, Queen Maxima was on hand for the launch of Checkers, an online tool where adults can learn about ways to support young people’s mental health.
Maxima wore a black and gray ensemble for the event. When she took off her black jacket, she revealed a sparkling surprise: a pair of sparkling spider brooches.
The crystal brooches have been in Maxima’s jewelry box for almost a decade. They were made by Celedonio, a jewelry firm from Maxima’s native Argentina. Each piece is completely handmade.
For the Checkers launch, Maxima paired the spider brooches with large crystal beaded hoop earrings. She’s paired the same earrings with the brooches on past occasions, too.
Maxima also wore rings on both hands and bracelets on both wrists. Here, on her right hand, you’ll spot her diamond and black pearl ring, worn with her diamond family initial bracelet.
And here, on the left, Maxima wears her engagement and wedding rings, plus a pair of gold bracelets with cabochon gemstones and her watch. The larger of the two bracelets features the names of her husband and children engraved in the setting near each gem.
