Queen Maxima was out and about last week, wearing a new suite of statement jewelry, plus a pair of pieces that have been in her collection for many years.
On Thursday, Queen Maxima headed to Zevenbergschen Hoek, a village in the municipality of Moerdijk, for a visit focused on questions about enduring communities. The village has an aging population, and Maxima made several stops where she visited facilities and groups dedicated to promoting social connection amid demographic change.
For the village visit, Maxima wore separates in tones of blush and ivory. Both the top and wide-leg trousers come from one of Maxima’s go-to brands, Natan.
With the neutral ensemble, Maxima opted for statement accessories that upped the interest factor of the outfit considerably. The necklace and matching earrings were worn for the first time during this visit.
ModeKoninginMaxima tells us that the new pieces come from a British brand, St. Erasmus. The company is the brainchild of the South African-born jewelry designer Pieter Louis Erasmus, a trained artist who made pieces for costume jewelry brands and runway shows before starting his own line. The jewels worn by Maxima feature the designer’s interesting crochet technique, with metallic thread woven over large crystals for a textured look.
Maxima paired the new earrings and necklace with pieces that she’s had since the early years of her marriage. On her right wrist, she wore her diamond wedding bracelet.
And on her right hand, she wore a ring that she sported for another royal family wedding a few years after her own marriage ceremony.
Here’s a closer look at the cocktail ring, which features various colorful gemstones with diamond centerpieces set on a double band. Some of the sections of the ring appear to have a floral design.
Maxima wore the ring in September 2009 for the wedding of King Willem-Alexander’s cousin, Bernardo Guillermo, in New York City. On that occasion, she paired the ring with the amethyst girandole earrings from her personal jewelry collection.
